Hollywood Heroes

Looking for fame and fortune? To make it on the big screen? Or perhaps some behind-the-scenes work? Hollywood has it all-- from technical artists to actors and actresses. If one’s an aspiring actor, or just looking to score a look at someone famous, driving around Hollywood isn’t that bad an idea. But beware of heavy traffic and the occasional fire or two.

While it’s certainly a grand location, and a great idea to visit, Hollywood can be a letdown for some. The location offers a number of attractions and shops, but at the cost of limited access, high-prices, and large crowds. So if one’s struggling financially-- Hollywood won’t play nice with finances. Besides costly physical goods, one could visit Universal Studios nearby, the TCL Chinese Theatre, the El Capitan Theatre or the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Though one is limited to only touching with eyes, they serve as staples of the Hollywood experience-- one wouldn’t want to miss out.

But besides all the good, there’s some bad too. Since it is in California, there’s often a fire erected somewhere nearby. With the smoke and additional traffic from the fire, it makes for a heightened danger-level. And if fires running rampant weren’t already enough of a problem, Hollywood also suffers from a large volume of tourists-- this affects traffic and may affect one’s own tourism. The traffic becomes unbearable at times, so be sure to keep in mind how traffic looks when arriving or departing.

Let’s not forget the experience though. As one parades around Hollywood-- the TCL Chinese Theatre more specifically-- one will be greeted with numerous costumed people. The costumed folk will be walking around taking photos with any willing tourists-- so long as the tourists pay for the photos they took. It may detract from the experience, considering the cost, but it makes for an interesting time nonetheless. And we can’t forget about the Hollywood sign. It’s glaring-down at all passerby as it sits along the side of the mountain just above the city. One’s able to get a good look at the sign from most anywhere, and it makes for some incredible scenic photographs. It’s a sight to behold-- and one only achievable by seeing it in person. If one has the time and money, be sure to visit Hollywood in California-- it’s a culture shock for sure.
