Although the origin is still not confirmed, the harp was popularized in Europe during the ninth century. Eventually, the harp made its way across other places and as of today resides popular in places like Africa and Myanmar. Generally, the form of a harp is made from wood or some kind of skin and has a set of strings that range from low to high notes. The strings were usually made from the guts of animals. Its shape is usually arch-like and shaped in order to be played at an angle. There are some harps that do have pedals that are used while playing and these are considered to be modern harps.
