TV Shows in Australia

Here in the United States, there are many ways to find a new TV show or two. For Those who have cable or even other have streaming services, like Hulu or Netflix, are usually rewatching old shows or trying to discover new ones. However, the options available may not be enough, or they may fail to catch some people’s attention. There are some people out there that enjoy shows from outside of the United States, or are wanting to be exposed to new shows. According to the International Movie Database website as of November 2019, here are two of Australia’s most popular television shows.

Mr Inbetween

If you are a fan of crime, Breaking Bad, or Australia, Mr. Inbetween may be the show for you. A crime drama set around Ray Shoesmith, known as a father, significant other, and best friend to some. Ray tries to find his balance with all of it while adding a life as a criminal to make a living on top. The TV show is adapted from Australia and stars Scott Ryan, Chika Yasumura, and Justin Rosinak. The show is currently ranked 8.2 out of 10 stars with one IMDB user by the name of fanatix-05187 commenting: “If Tarantino made a TV series in Australia with a dash of Breaking Bad, then this would be it. Roll on season 2.....”. Mr. Inbetween is currently on its second season and airing on FX every Thursday at 10:30pm.




Glitch

Created by Tony Ayres and Louise Fox, Glitch follows six people that awake from the dead with no kind of memory, and are now on the hunt for answers as to what led up to their deaths. The show stars people like Patrick Brammall, Emma Booth, and Sean Keenan. The show ranks at a 7.4 out of 10 on the IMDB list, which is average, but viewers seem to love the show. One user, Mccullumb, writes “I have to say that the shows I've watched coming out of Australia's TV shows very talented artists from writers, actors, producers, directors, art makeup and all involved with the production. I'm looking forward to more great shows. It was extremely entertaining.” For those who are interested in sci-fi, this is a show that is for you to give a shot at. Glitch is currently on its third season on ABC, and is also streaming on Netflix.
